Australian Junior Team

The Junior World Gliding Championships take place once every two years. The location is selected by a vote of national representatives at an International Gliding Commission meeting. Each country may enter a total of three pilots in each class, with allowances also made in excess of this for the current Junior World Champions of each class if they are still within the age limit.

The 9th FAI Junior World Gliding Championships will be held in Narromine, Australia in December 2015. This is the first time the event has been held outside of Europe. It will attract the cream of young glider pilots from across the world. The competition will be held in two classes, Club Class, and Standard Class. Club Class is a handicapped class where a variety of older gliders can compete on an equal basis. Standard Class has no handicapping, but all gliders are restricted to a 15m wingspan, with no flaps allowed.

Australia will field a full team of six pilots at the 2015 event.
